Meet Our Vets
Dr. Debbie Anderson
Dr. Debbie Anderson is a lifelong Topeka resident. She attended Most Pure Heart and Hayden High School before attending Kansas State University where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1979.
Dr. Anderson had dreamed of being a veterinarian since she was in fifth grade and feels very blessed to have been able to fulfill that dream. Dr. Anderson enjoys not only all phases of veterinary medicine, from treating ill pets to preventative medicine, but also the strong intergenerational relationships that she has developed with her clients. As she begins 40 years of small animal practice it is the care of her patients and the friendship of clients that bring her the most satisfaction as a veterinarian.
Dr. Anderson has served on the legislative committee of the KVMA and received a service award from them for her work as a board member on a Dean selection committee. She has served on the board of the Helping Hands Humane Society two times and was a founding member of Critter Care. Her clinic supports the work of the Topeka Cat Shelter as well, participating in their annual spay promotion each year. Dr. Anderson has also served two times on the Board of Veterinary Examiners. Many years were also spent as an active volunteer at Most Pure Heart and Christ the King while her children attended those schools.
Dr. Anderson has been married to her husband Bill for over 43 years. They have 5 children two of which were adopted from Russia in 1995. Dr. Anderson and Bill have 6 grandchildren from the ages of 4 to 15. Their greatest joy comes from family get togethers and trips. In her free time Dr. Anderson enjoys swimming, bicycling, kayaking, snorkeling and fly fishing. She also enjoys the fiber arts such as rug hooking, punch needle, cross stitch and appliqué. Travel is another activity Dr. Anderson enjoys with her husband and they’ve joined many K-State alumni trips over the years visiting Africa, Antarctica, and Europe.
Dr. Anderson and her husband have two cats, Tippur and Tiffany and three dogs, Champ, Ranger and Scruffy, our most recent rescue dog.
